ABOUT ME
Traditional meets alternative
Hello. I’m Christine Shelley. I am a chartered physiotherapist with over 30 years of experience in various clinical settings and training in a variety of therapeutic modalities. I provide a holistic solution to pain relief through a variety of gentle, profound modalities in a relaxed, supportive environment.
I graduated as a chartered physiotherapist from Queen Margaret College, Edinburgh in 1990, and worked in a variety of clinical settings from NHS teaching hospitals to a GP surgery and from occupational health to private practices. At weekends I worked with Manchester Storm ice-hockey team, Broughton Park Rugby Club and the British Judo girls cadet squad.
However, my traditional medical model of how to treat pain was turned upside down when I took a course in craniosacral therapy, something which, at the time, I knew little about. I took this course primarily in an attempt to resolve my own frustrating hip pain, which was not responding to conventional physiotherapy. This course challenged and changed my perception of how to treat pain, and led me to incorporate craniosacral therapy into my treatments, thus transitioning into a more alternative therapeutic approach. I am excitedly embracing this latest chapter of my work which continues to evolve.
